Don't know what your state laws are like, but our laws in Ontario are such that with the "Prime" we'd get a green licence plate that lets us use the commuter lane, even when there's only a driver in the car. the regular Prius doesn't get this preferential treatment.

That in itself sells me on the Prime.

Interesting to hear you fit well at 6’5”… I am 6’2” and I found the front comfortable for me when I sat in one at the car show a few months back, however I would have thought another 3” would be dicey… the rear was not great, though I found I would be ok sitting back there for short trips could be done by just slouching a bit (had to test for my two sons, either of which may be close to my height in a few years, lol). Good thing I won’t ever sit back there myself.

 

This was a major reason I bought my PiP in 2016 (rather than buying a Gen 4, since the Prime was available yet).

In fact, I made the buying decision the day after the Ontario government decided to make the HOV privileges for green plates a “permanent” perk. I presume this means they will eventually stop handing out green plates once there is a certain saturation of them on the road.

 

PEI! At 6'2" you will be quite comfy. I wouldn't even try to fit in the back seat of the 2023!

 

My car is rated at 39 EV miles and that was exactly what I got today before it switched to HV. It was an all freeway Eco drive with auto-climate on and average speed of 68mph.

you've got to do a country drive in 30mph areas. i bet you'd get close to 100 miles!

 

they are definitely starting to get around if you are willing to travel for it. I've been able to find two xse premiums at no markup in the south, i've got a deposit on one im going to pick up next week.

 

Make sure you have financing in place before you arrive. They WILL try and get their "markup" if you walk into the financing office blind.

 

i'm paying cash, coming with a cashiers check with the total. I think we've covered those bases already.

 

I had so much fun playing around with my old prime and getting the best efficiency, I can't wait to play around with the new one.

 

It’s past next week

 

That was a nice bonus with my 2012 Plug-In. However, nowadays I no longer have that horrible highway commute. Yay! So, my next car likely isn't going to be a Plug-In.

Actually, the main reason I bought the Plug-In in the first place was because I was in a rush to get a car after an accident, but due to lack of local availability of a decent used regular Prius, I got the one available used Plug-In instead.

I thought about getting a new 2023, but this market is just nuts. Maybe a new non-Plug-In Prius in a couple of years...
