I have recently acquired a 2007 Prius, with 147k miles, and am planning to do a some other recommended maintainance when I change the oil at 150k, but I'm not super sure which things to prioritize first.

The service records that I have:
    • 5k interval oil changes by first owner for the first 80k (Carfax)
    • Second owner claims 3k oil change interval from 80k-147k (skeptical of this)
    • Water pump replaced at 40k (unsure whether engine or inverter coolant pump)
    • Catalytic converter at 120k
    • Brakes at 140k

Second owner seems to have had additional maintainance done through a shop which does not report to carfax, spark plugs and ignition coils appear relatively new, engine and inverter coolants visually appear fresher than they'd be if last service was at 40k.

    Dealership inspection notes:
    • No issues found
    • Transaxle fluid change recommended
    • Coolant change recommended
Visually the car is very clean, no rust, and engine bay is almost uncannily clean, structurally and mechanically it looks closer to 47k miles than 147k. No concerning noises while driving. No issues with AC or heat. Hybrid battery tests good, .2v or less voltage variation across all cells. 50mpg average over last 1k miles, primarily long trips. Moderate oil consumption issue, approximately 1/2 quart every 1k miles, oil slightly darker than expected after 1k.

    150k planned maintainance:
    • Piston soak with berryman b-12
    • Oil change with Valvoline restore and protect
    • Hybrid transaxle fluid change.
Hoping the piston soak, and oil choice, will help mitigate the oil consumption/premature degredation issue. I plan to prioritize the transaxle fluid change over the coolant change, because I don't know if it has ever been done, while the coolant visually appears fine.

    Questions:
    • Does the 150k maintainance plan seem ideal?
    • Is their risk of catastrophic failure from changing the transaxle fluid? I've heard that fluid changes after 150k+ miles without service can cause major transmission issues.
    • Should I replace the inverter coolant pump when I change the coolant? It isn't listed in the extended mantainance schedule, but I've seen it mentioned as preventative maintaince several times on the forum.
    • How long can I wait between doing the transaxle and the coolant (or vice versa)? My current plan is to do the coolant changes at 165k.
Thanks to anyone who has input!

Don't fix things until they're broke. This car had brakes at 140,000 miles that close to a record probably or things were sold to people that weren't needed which is probably what was going on just look at overall 17 yr old car that's not destined to be a classic or such . And go on that . This is part of Corolla family . So generally good to close to 500K most aren't going to. Make anywhere near that . Attention span etc will have you at lucid or Tesla's door directly. The numbers prove it pretty much . Inverter pumps get replaced wen the light comes on . Use real Parts . And so on. Most of not make it to end of this cars life . A few will
