I only take them out when my son and I do a summer road trip...or I need to use the car like a moving van ( i.e. - to move my daughter back and forth to college ). I usually leave them out for a while after though...because they are quite heavy and you do need to do some wrenching to remove/install them.

That's correct you should only fill your tank toi 3/4 if you've top it off you can damage your evap bladder. The hybrid system needs room to breathe

Back while ago, some feller posted here that he 2nd clicked on the pump for many years w/over 120,000 miles on the clock and his vehicle didn't hiccup once for the practice. The only reason to be worried about fill it up is when gasoline expands in the tank with a drastic rise of temperature. Other wise car makers would find a way to avoid lawsuit. But if youre in the relm of topping it off to the lid cap then best wishes to you.

I can relate, it does yield better MPGs especially when ICE turns off with EV propulsion especially in rainy puddle roads. I don't have rear seats either in my hatch, the HV battery cools down faster because seats would absorb the colder air and shielding cold air surrounding the HV battery.

Perhaps it's another Prius "OCD" thing... ...in both cases - topping it off to the lid cap OR filling the tank to 3/4's full.

Does anyone know of any examples of damage occurring when people casually fill a tank normally? (i.e. without double-clicking or topping it off till gasoline spills out?)
