Maintenance for Gen 3 Prius

    Nothing is absolutely "lifetime" except death. Hence, I, too, adhere to the cautious mindset of "...you can never change a fluid too SOON, only too LATE..."

    $90.00 is not much for a transmission fluid change. I think you probably did the right thing. I'm certain you have piece of mind about it. I may have mine changed. Thanks for your Post.

    Someone find a reference showing "any" DOT 3 brake fluid is lifetime. 30,000 miles 3/years is the most I would ever go.

    Now-a-days, don't most REPUTABLE autoshops/technicians "test" brake fluid for its ph-acidity level as a quantitive measure of it's GOODNESS?

    ...or water content, no. Just to make sure this is not a "me" issue, someone please find a qualifer that says any DOT 3 is lifetime...other than Toyota Prius.
