The hose fittings that came with my OCC had the correct thread size and pitch M16 x 1.5mm.

I ended up using an M16x1.5 to AN6 adapter and a 180 degree AN6 to 3/8 inch OD barb to route the hose to the OCC from the original PCV valve location.

There's another M16x1.5 to AN6 and 90 degree AN6 to 3/8 inch OD barb adapter at the other side of OCC in my picture.

The fittings that came with my original OCC was good except the shoulder was only a 17mm hex and the PCV Valve has a 22mm HEX... It barely covered the hole and I didn't think torquing it down to 15ft-lbs was a good idea.

They're constant pressure spring clamps. The stainless steel worm screw clamps you are using will lose clamping pressure when the hose deforms under the clamp, to maintain the clamping pressure, you would need to tighten the clamps later.

The spring clamps maintain the pressure around the hose.

FYI, if you use the aluminum AN6 fitting in the original PCV valve location don't torque it to 15 ft-lb, it's softer and you don't want to break it.

I bought these 16mm x 1.5 female to 3/8 inch OD barb brass fittings off Amazon to relocate the PCV valve, to be inline on a 3/8 inch hose to the OCC.

The 16mm x 1.5 female thread was a bit off. The PCV valves only screwed in about halfway before binding. So I had to get a 16mm x 1.5 tap to clean up the threads. Now the PCV valves screw in with no problem.

Since I currently have my PCV valve located on the OCC, I'm no longer using these brass adapters. 20210811_103350.jpeg

I took the hoses off tonight and tried to move the Provent around the engine bay to see if there was anywhere else I could put it. I found 2 other locations.
    1) There is an unused threaded hole on the cam assembly that would put the unit directly over the oil dip stick... So everytime I need to check the oil level, I would have to remove it.. Kinda annoying.
2)Using the left mounting screw of the brake fluid reservoir, I could mount it just to the right of EGR valve. Aside from slightly changing the orientation of the brake fluid reservoir with a new bracket, this is probably a better location. But I'm kind of done with fumbling with all this for now. I think in about 50k miles when I need to replace the coolant and clean out the EGR system, I will revisit moving the Provent next to the EGR valve and moving the PCV valve closer to it.

I bought those exact fittings too... So you mounted the PCV valve to the out port of your OCC?

Is your OCC just resting on the engine mount or did you make a bracket to attach it to?

Yes, PCV valve is screwed directly into the OCC outlet side.

I made a bracket, it's under a bolt under a bracket that holds the AC refrigerant lines. 20211008_165122_kindlephoto-575030303.jpeg 20211008_165142.jpeg

I tried to fit this where you put yours and it just doesn't fit....

Interesting article on different styles of catch cans. https://unsealed4x4.com.au/the-great-oil-catch-can-comparison/

Anyone have a good idea for going from a female AN-6 fitting to the 19mm (AN-12ish) plastic tube of the canister?

Here is kind of a parts list to get to the canister... Maybe a quick connect for ease of taking the canister off to change the filter. I know this is way overkill. Screenshot_20220726-005624__01.jpeg Screenshot_20220726-005639.jpeg

Just keep your 3/4 inch hose to 3/4 inch x 3/8 inch barb and 3/8 inch tubing setup to go from the OCC outlet.

AN6 is close enough to 3/8 inch to use the hose on the AN6 fitting. No need to get AN6 hose.

Somewhere* on New-Line Hose I read that you don’t need clamps with properly sized hoses on barb connectors. And that hose clamps, particularly screw-style, can be detrimental. I went with that, and have had no problems.

    * Not able to track it down again, but a Google search may confirm.

I found another great place that this ProVent could go that would be super hidden if you live in a state that does emissions checks. This is below the intake between the transmission and the A/C compressor up against the engine. The hose runs would be super short and you wouldn't be able to move the PCV valve from the current location. The drain hose would be much shorter (maybe 2 or 3 ft long) so you would want to check it often.

I would change the ProVent filter every 50,000 miles when you clean the EGR system, change the coolant, and change the transmission oil.

I think in 50,000 miles I will look at moving it to this location and I'll have a better idea of how much oil I'm pulling out every 1000 - 5000 miles.

I have a question. Does the catch can fall under a vacuum. It seems like it would be slightly pressurized when at idle (coming from the crankcase), but fall into vacuum when accelerating (caused by the throttle body).

Also, a question more related to the EGR circuit. Is it not just water vapor coming through the EGR. I understand carbon, but as far as liquid, is there oil vapor in the EGR circuit

The EGR is fed by the exhaust manifold, so I’d say quite hot/dry, with carbon. It is “slightly” damp, but not at all like the PCV.

I’d say the OCC state of vacuum/pressure would pretty much mirror the intake manifold, like any car: high vacuum at idle, drop but still on the vacuum side under acceleration. By vacuum I mean lower than ambient air pressure.

I don't believe that there is any moisture from water or water vapor in the EGR circuit. The "moisture" comes from unburned oil that has made it into the combustion chambers.

Water vapor and water that comes out of the tail pipe comes from hydrocarbons that have been catalyzed in the catalytic converter.

    No.
Combustion of any hydrocarbon always produces primarily water and carbon dioxide.
