Manually Charging my 2010 Prius to avoid running the engine on startup?

I think pulse and glide is still the best for fuel consumption - and that doesn’t include running on battery.

 

Look ahead, anticipate slow downs so you can coast up to them, avoid excessive braking that squanders momentum. Keeping a generous following distance helps. Stay near the speed limit at most.

Basic biz:

1. Don't draft vehicles, trucks or whatever.
2. Don't roll stops, play by the rules, do full legal stops and check for cross traffic and pedestrians.

 

I stay about 1 1/2 seconds behind semi's and gain about at least 5 mpg.
It makes you pay attention too.
