I wonder how the Marathon fit. We are trying to get one into our 2008 and it seems too large rear-facing. We have tried it in the middle and the sides. ?? Thanks!

FWIW, in terms of safety, it's driver comfort first. If the seat won't fit in the middle with enough room for the driver then the seat will have to go rear facing on the passenger side. The passenger will have to suck it up and and sit up close or move to the backseat behind the driver. This is what DW opted to do when we were rear facing.
