In an article by Eric Kulisch, Automotive News writes (8 Dec 17):

Mayors, industry press Congress to keep electric vehicle rebate in final tax bill

Electric vehicle and clean-energy proponents are urging Congress to preserve a consumer tax credit they insist is critical to mass adoption of the technology.

But you don't understand...they don't want to promote the new technology.

Promoting or not actually has nothing to do with them cutting the credits. In order for the Rs to get this passed without votes from the Ds, they had to do the equivalent of checking the couch cushions for spare change. After cutting bigger deductions and credits, they still had to go after the pocket change ones like the plug in credit.

Losing this sucks, but I'd rather see the benefits to students, for medical bills, and deductions for local taxes replaced first.

I agree. If only rich people did not need more money.

    We can only hope.

I've been around long enough to feel the same way.

Deaf ears? The current party in power doesn't have ANY ears (look at the polls), except for their big $$ donors.
Which is why they're rushing it through, behind closed doors, with NO debate.

(At least back then, both sides were in the room!)

If true, I wonder how that happened. Those putting this thing together are against clean technology.
