if you're trading up, sometimes, decontenting can be a problem. that happened to me, coming from a 2008 pkg 2, looking at 2011, no 3 door sks.
sometimes, it's not a big deal unless you're used to having it.

3 door touch-lock/unlock is one feature I care about. I see looking at the US brochure that is still not standard, on 2017 Prius.

For theft deterrent that may be so, but the cost of repair/replacement is considerably more, eg >$800 per broken headlight unit

    What are you talking about??
All Gen 4, except Trim Two have standard "Smart Key System on three doors with Push Button Start and remote illuminated entry".

D.u.n.n.o. about bisco, but I'm talking about just that: that the base level strips out passenger and hatch door touch-to-open.

I think behind closed doors there's got to be discussion, around: what can we do to keep the base level from getting to popular?

You could get an Eco - get 3 door SKS and lose the spare & rear wiper :D or Three and keep the spare & rear wiper.

I think BACKUP CAMERAS will become the norm - mainly because of design. Yep, same as stupid pieces of glass instead of knobs and buttons, many cars these days you can't see out of just by swivelling around. Windows are getting smaller. I'm guessing, at the rate they're going, we'll have cameras all around and no windows at all - hopefully not.

THE OLD - with windows ->->->->->->->->THE NEW - almost without.

By area glass is heavier than mild steel sheet, so reducing glazed area cuts the vehicle's weight. IIRC

In the U.S., backup cameras are required in all cars, starting in 2018 I believe.

Was peaved my base model wasn't able to open the hatch the first time I went grocery shopping and had to place bags back there, thought my hatch was defective till I read online it was actually a "feature" you had to buy on higher trims o_O Having to first open the driver side door, and then press the "unlock" all doors button on the armrest, before you can walk to the back of your car to open the hatch is still annoying..........

3rd gen had a user customizable setting, and 4th gen maybe similar: you can set it so single touch of driver's handle unlocks all doors IIRC. It involves pushing two fob buttons simultaneously to toggle the setting, covered in Owner's Manual. Not perfect but at least cuts the steps.

Check that it can't be changed so that when you unlock the driver's door it unlocks ALL doors - which is how it works here. My last 2 cars, I could change that function.

It works. You also don't need to open the driver door, just touch the inside of the handle. It's annoying still but much less so than having to physically move it.

That is how I use mine since I frequently place items on the back seat.

The base Two does have radar cruise.

On a 2015 Prius Two? That is what I was responding to.
The 2017 has DRCC but the 2016 does not. I doubt the 2015 Trim Two has it either.

In the past always purchased base models. I fondly remember a five speed with no right hand mirror and a rubber shift boot I could lift up and see the road rushing under the car. This car is different. I love the 8 way adjustable softex heated seats and the 480 W JBL sound.
