    hello forum

I live in the Westside of Los Angeles. I was wondering if any of you had any good recommendations for reasonably priced mechanics in the area? And I mean good mechanics, not ones that do the job and you having to go back to fix something else they screwed up

    Thank you

any more recommendations? something recent, perhaps in the valley?

i tried to contact avi but the phone would always go to voice mail. it took about five-seven days to get an email answered, the communication was poor and nothing was ever set up. not to mention inglewood is pretty far for me.

Sorry about that. Definitely not the experience I'd like people to have. Feel free to give me another shot and I'll make sure to take care of you.

im in north hollywood, so something on this side of the hill would be ideal. i mainly wanted to just find a guy, do some inspection and maintenance and stuff. nothing needs to be done as far as i know, but i haven't had the car very long and i'd like to establish a healthy baseline for it. might need a key done, also.

same as before. mainly just check up. just hit 50k but i've had it less than a year so i just want to see what's up with it, what it may need and so forth. and a key, while i'm there. just basics for now, mainly trying to find a good shop for whatever lies ahead down the road.

I sometimes look at Toyota Dealer website service specials and included w/ oil changes are multi point inspection less than $70. Or they often offer multi point inspection for free. Call and ask. I like Longo Toyota Service.

Longo has seriously over priced service, and the wait time is crazy long.

was hoping to avoid a dealership if possible, but if that's the way to go... north hollywood toyota is nearest to me, but northidge toyota is also within range, if anyone knows anything about them. longo is further than i would have hoped.

I bought my car from Hamer, seems to be a pretty good dealer.

Most services on the car can be performed by a regular mechanic. Just AC work, you might want to let a dealer handle

I agree dealers can be a hassle.

I don't find longo Toyota to be overly expensive for scheduled maintenance service, in fact I've saved a few $'s because of service specials coupons. (No you don't need to cut coupons). Considering it's a hybrid system, multipoint inspection-dealer price is peace of mind in my case. I think they're okay. I once drained my 12volt battery, AAA had to jump start my Prius. On next scheduled service I asked the service advisor if my 12volt battery needs replacement vehicle is 5 years old. He said battery is in good condition and replacement is not necessary. They would change it only if I insist replacement. ;). Feel free to speak to your service advisor about future maintenance needs and cost estimate. They hooked me in with really respectful employees and nice lounge free donuts and Starbucks coffee while in service line.

They have a Toyota certified body shop. I had them polish my headlights while on routine service. Also accept aaa for 15% off services. $179 interior / exterior / engine detail service.

wasn't sure if i was being too cautious or not. that's good to know. i'll remember that delineation.

i think that's what i mostly after right now. peace of mind and an idea of what to expect in the future with a good place to take it to. i'll check out what's local to me and compare them to longo, then. the 15% off for triple a is temping, indeed. maybe i can find some deals going. thanks!
