    What a sweet ride! Thanks for being brave and 'coming out of the Mustang closet' so to speak.

    I need to update this thread; it's woefully behind the times with my car.

    Time to update my own thread...

    The Following is the story as it unfolded in real time; I have just taken posts from another forum, and put them here. Why not.
    ===================================

    I have said it a lot: GPS is the crack cocaine of car systems now. When you get used to it, you just can’t give it up. And my Toyota Highlander had it, so I rushed to get it in Boaz

    So I got this:

    Kenwood DNX-5120
    In-dash Navigation System
    The Kenwood DNX-5120 is a full-featured Entertainment system with built-in Garmin navigation and USB Direct Control for iPods or other portable music devices.

    The Kenwood DNX-5120 is a full-featured Entertainment and Navigation system with USB Direct Control for iPods or other portable music devices. With built-in Garmin navigation technology, the DNX5120 has maps of the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico and includes over 6 million Points of Interest. This all-in-one unit also features a 6.1" LCD touchscreen with a user-programmable start-up, variable-color illumination of the front panel controls, and two RCA 2V Preouts for system expansion.

    * 6.1" Touchscreen
    * Built-in Garmin Navigation Board with USA, Canada, PR, Alaska and Hawaii Mapping
    * Fits Double-DIN (4" tall) Dashes
    * Live traffic and weather data available (optional TMC receiver not included)
    * Plays DVD, DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW, CD, CD-R/RW, and MP3/WMA/AAC files on disc
    * Advanced GUI with Variable Illumination and Customizable Start-up
    * USB Direct Control
    * Fastest Access to iPod Audio/Video with High-Speed iPod Control
    * 2 2V RCA Preouts (F,R/Sub)
    * Front Aux Input
    * Satellite Radio Ready, HD Radio Ready and Bluetooth Ready
    * 3-band EQ with six preset tone curves
    * Inputs: USB input, front-panel A/V input, rear-view camera input
    * Outputs: 4-channel preamp outputs (front, rear), A/V output
    * Compatible with most factory steering wheel audio controls (adapter required)
    *Cool lights that can be set to many colors, or rotate through them

    I had my XM moved to this vehicle as well. And the iPod hook up is the bomb. You see everything your iPod has, right there on the screen, album art and everything. And the DVD video is top notch. It’s even got dts sound. Because my installer somehow ‘forgot’ to wire a certain wire to the handbrake, passengers can watch video while driving down the road. And my passenger, if so inclined, can navigate for me, by entering data, finding things...It’s quite neat.

    Here are some late night, pics, that show the system, and a movie. Notice in one of the shots, (from the iPod), if you can, a PRIUS. And what movie is that, and what scene, campers? A NO PRIZE to the first one who guesses correctly! :grin:

    Now you have seen the Kenwood head unit in a earlier picture; here is the JL Audio sub (with custom built box) and JL mono Amp model A1200 .

    It's not going to rattle you, with this bass, but you do know it's there. I might add a forward amp and perhaps better speakers in the future, but for now, they sound fine.

    I got a Billet Delete Antenna, which, they said on the web site, will not work as an antenna. Which does not bother me, since I am a XM/iPod/DVD guy in the car. So I got it, and put it on, and tried out the FM for the heck of it, and it works!

    How about that! Not bad, and it looks super sanio at that!

    I can't say this 'shorty antenna' will be perfect, as in receiving radio signal, and I know that the better quality radio will receive the signal stronger, thus a better sound will occur from my Kenwood then from the stock radio, but I am receiving fairly decent radio signal from it.

    You know, I need to put in here the 'simple' mods I did the other day.

    Here are the pics:

    Yeah, a chrome oil cap with the Pony, and Pony mats.

    Simple, right? But a mod is a mod!

    And one more of the engine with the CAI:

    Heck here is a close up:

    I got to thinking, and influenced by another site, and another owner of a Mustang, what my Mustang is to me: Here it goes:

    My MUSTANG is a combination of some of the creatures on Planet Earth.
    The SPEED and CHARM of a HORSE when you ride it.
    The ROAR and STRENGTH of a LION when you accelerate.
    The GRACE and AGILITY of a TIGER as it twists and turns.

    For those of us of average height the Mustang fits us pretty good, but any taller than that and it can get a little cramped, especially the leg room. Your right knee is constantly against the center console and it becomes down right uncomfortable, until now. Installing a knee pad in your Mustang gives your knee a soft spot to rest.

    Now, you are sort of caught up. I have been to four car shows, and one FIRST PLACE for my class at each one. Not bad. I have to say, that I really think it's the color that puts me over the top!

    Here is my first award:
    [IMG]

    Second award, still First Place:

    [IMG]

    (that is me, BTW. I am a goof.)

    Third award, also First Place:

    [IMG]

    And here is the fourth award, also First Place:

    [IMG]

    The only other award I have, is for second place for costume, which had I known that I was going to be in a contest for costume/Halloween theme, I might have done more.

    [IMG]

    I have to say, I am getting used to this. It's a odd feeling, since I am still new to the Mustang world...but a good feeling nonetheless.

    Thanks for the compliment! BOAZ is Hebrew for 'pony, swift'. In the Bible, there is not any 'named' horse, say, like 'Mister Ed'.

    GO is for 'Grabber Orange' which is the color. Thanks for looking today!

    So my good ole' pal AL came by on his way back from ROSWELL, New Mexico, on his way to Jacksonville, Florida. Here he is with Buttercup, his Y2K New Beetle, and Boaz, in front of my house. It was great to see him again.

    I was just at the restaurant, Red Neck Heaven when the girls there asked to pose with Boaz.

    I have won first place every time I have entered Boaz.

    I bet, it's a very nice car. :) I owned a couple '87-'93 bodystyle Mustangs that I tricked out for racing but they were never clean like yours.

    If that is your house in the pic that is a damn nice place. :)

    Well gosh, thanks. That is indeed our house. Inside we have a 'Pub' we call 'THE LION & THE LAMB' with a Billiards table and a dart board, plus a iPod jukebox, and a pool out back...
