CAN SOMEONE HELP ME. WE HAVE A 2004 PRIUS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE BRAKE LIGHT (!) THAT ONE.

CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IT MIGHT BE. The last owner replaced the hybrid battery. The car has 210,000.

    Hi and welcome to PriusChat

THE MIL (A/K/A CEL) TELLS YOU THAT THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) HAS SOMETHING TO TELL YOU.

THE ((!)) LIGHT IS THE ELECTRONIC BRAKING SYSTEM LIGHT AND IT TELLS YOU THAT ONE (OR MORE) OF THE ECUS ASSOCIATED WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM HAS SOMETHING TO TELL YOU.

YOU NEED TO READ THE CAR'S COMPUTERS TO SEE WHAT INFORMATION THEY HAVE FOR YOU.

You can sometimes get a meaningful service from an auto parts store if they have a good enough reader to read all the Prius' ECUs.

If you can get the various codes that are currently stored in your car's ECUs and post them here, we can give you advice on what to do next.

Look forward to hearing from you for the next steps.

My husband went to get the check engine light looked at for the codes and it came up as the hybrid battery.

That was one of eight, what were the other seven?

P0A80 is a little generic. It might be the thing to do, but read in the context of all the other codes there might be something else less expensive that could be done.

That was the only code that came up. No other one.

And was this a used (rebuilt) battery or a for sure New Battery?
If rebuilt you could need a New Traction Battery.
