A few weeks ago I started the engine only to discover that the MFD screen was dead. The radio works but otherwise the screen is black. The vehicle has only done 51,000. We went to the Toyota dealer where we'd bought the car and they demanded $3000 to replace the whole unit. The car is only worth about $9000! The warranty had expired and they showed no interest. We then called the national toll-free number to plead for a "good will" repair but to no avail. I see in previous posts (How to Replace a Defective Touchscreen (Digitizer) on a 2010 (Gen 3) Toyota Prius | PriusChat) the idea to replace the screen but that was for an LCD display which still showed the map etc. So I'm not sure if I need more than replacing the screen itself. Any ideas?

should be the same procedure. see if you can find one salvage, or eBay. the connectors will be a bit different.
