    The basics...

    2013 Prius Two

This morning, the USB panel of the MFD/stereo was frozen. No response to buttons or touchscreen. All other stereo and modes worked fine.

Turned off stereo and pulled USB drive. Waited a few seconds and reinserted it. Still frozen.

Turned car off and repeated...still frozen.

Tried it one last time, now the stereo did not come on nor could I turn it on. No Toyota logo.

At this point, I accepted it wasn’t going to right itself and prepared to carry on. Suddenly, the Toyota logo appeared and the sound system was 100% back to normal. It was as if it rebooted itself, but I don’t see why that doesn’t happen at every power up of the car.

    Anyone seen this happen before?

doesn't sound familiar. if it happens again, try puling the fuse, or disconnect the 12v.
