Is it possible to have a failing battery and not have the christmas tree thing happen? Will an unbalanced or weak battery always throw codes?

Besides Toyota, who can pull codes for me for cheap or for free?

I live in Florida, car has 119,000k.

Nope, you asked for a Florida non-dealer that would help you to test your HV battery. Mellors Auto in West Melbourne is a reliable, independent Hybrid repair facility.

Oops, for some reason I thought there was an empty messages below yours from someone else

I went to Mellors last year, he had my Prius for like a week and a half and couldn't find anything. But, I got it back and MPG was better and batt held a normal SoC charge, but after three days it started discharging what I felt was abnormally again. But, it's now 7k later and gotta much worse.
