Misfire on #1, low RPM?

    when I switched to ngk plugs it solved my problem

    i bought a gen 3 prius with 260k miles, it had a small custom gasket to block inbetween the egr pipe and egr cooler. it stopped the low rpm misfires. im curious why this works. tho blocking the egr thows p0401 code
