Missing "learn" mode in Prime

    So I think Toyota really missed the boat here.

    Near as I can tell, the dark blue line is a reflection of the energy required to maintain the current speed at the current angle of attack. If that's true then it should certainly be possible to get angle information for an entire route (heck, memory is cheap enough that you could store a few thousand miles of angle information every foot without breaking a sweat). Once you have angle information, the car should be able to generate an optimized usage schedule for blending both Ice and electric. You would probably have to set a route in navigation to make that happen, but that's a small price to pay for such a feature. It would also require information regarding recharge locations (e.g. are you going to recharge at the destination or do you need to optimize over the return path with a single charge).

    it shouldn't need to be up to the driver to manually try to figure out when to switch between ice and ev. It's a quick and easy solution to not having altimeter data in the road database. All you would have to do is drive the route once.
