not sure where to post this

its no a hybrid but a nice small high MPG car

wonder what you all think about this one.

    1.2 liter 3 cyl with a CVT
start/stop system for better city driving

    maybe my next car ;-)
waiting for a plugin (PIP) in the future but can not effort it now. ( priuschat PIP discount? :p )

reported to go as high as 29Km Per liter on the highway ( 80-90kmph ) city around 20km/L in real life test for economy

would be a great small hybrid ( better CW then yaris hsd ) or EV.

I had one once as a rental. Definitely a no thrills econo car, but I would have considered owning one. It's just that the US hasn't seen a Mirage in years. I think Mitsubishi stop offering it when they introduced the Lancer.

or did you have this new model ? as a rental

no trills indeed did a test drive.
i was good to have the ICE off at stoplights because that was always iritating about a ICE only car,.

It is tiny, but so is the 1.4L turbo in the Sonic and Cruze. GM is planning on bringing out a smaller 3 cylinder. Same with Ford. The sub-compact market has gotten more interesting here. Guess Mitsubishi wants to get back into it.

It is but Chevrolet sells a 1.2 litre 4 cylinder Spark now and Ford has brought (at least to Canada) the 1.0 litre Ecoboost 3 cylinder engine.

The Spark's ICE is only 84hp at 6400rpm. That doesn't seem to have held sales back.
Though the new 1L in the Opel Adam will have higher ratings because of the turbo and DI.

like Trollbait said, the Spark has 83hp(64kW)@6,300rpm and 83lb-ft(113Nm)@4,200rpm. We'll get the Mirage with the 1.2L. It's rated in Canada at 18.9km/L city and 22.7km/L highway.

so for a long distance ( stay behind trucks and so on ) car it would be cleaner then a hyrbid yaris / prius c
and for short distance a bike or middle distance a full EV

Wow, and I thought Transport Canada's numbers were optimistic =). I think our highway section is done at 80km/h with a warm engine.

It started after this one in the general cars forum.
'14 Mitsubishi Mirage will have 40 mpg combined w/CVT | PriusChat
Not much to it, but the article has NA info.
The new Mirage will be rated 37city/44hwy/40combined with the CVT in the US. The manual will be a bit lower.

Saw a Mirage on display at a local Costco store, it was a white one, I like it, the price is right. If i were in the market for a new car, it would be on the top of my list.
