Earlier reply I said this oil was next, well that wasn’t the truth. I’ll stay redline no thicker than 20 weight when at normal operating temps. Just imagine any other car, then use a lighter oil, some people would think you’re crazy to do that. I can’t see this weight providing adequate lubrication in the long run, some even moved up to 30 or even 40.
Understand you can’t compare the new 0w16 weight to 0w20 as they aren’t on the same scale. Different chemistry with new properties Case of apples and oranges Honda has back dated a lot of old cars to use this or even so called 0w8
Mobil has been running a $12 mail-in rebate for 5-qt quantities of Mobil 1 for the past 5 or so years. With the rebate, final cost of a 5qt jug at walmart's $26 means it's $14. #1: I don't think Aunt Jemima is even maple syrup, I'm pretty sure it's a blend of mostly corn syrup. #2: I suppose when the oil runs out, you can count on Canada's strategic maple syrup reserve (which saw a high-profile theft in recent years)
Unless http://www.mobiloil.com says to use it in one of my vehicles, nope, not going to try it. Falls out of their application and hence warranty. moto g(7) power ?
someone above is think 0w 16 is not specifically what manufacturer want to see you use. Isn't it the same with 0w-40? .
0W-40 is approved as well as 50 weight just not reflected in the USA service manual - you know CAFE standards.
I enjoy these threads but always wonder what engineering backgrounds, degrees or experiences would qualify YOU to select/use a different weight oil than what the manufacturers have determined as the best weight for fuel mileage and reliable long engine life.
I took Spanish as foreign language option in high school and college. If you search for a Mexican Owners Manual you will find thicker oil options, not thinner as far as I'm aware, but thicker... moto g(7) power ?
Yes! Living in southern Arizona this would be good to maybe have slightly my thicker oil in the summer, but I normally only do an oil change once a year. Once every 7,000 miles. iPhone ?
