    you could try drilling holes in the frame, that would reduce some weight

    the more the merrier :LOL:

    Well, that would defeat my mod as even with vise grips, the drag will return as soon as the car moves. :) :) :)

    When using D cells for jump starting, add at least a 9th cell for better results. It won't exceed the voltage rating of anything on the 12V system.

    I refuse give any advice about using small cells to completely replace the 12V battery.

    I loaded up the Prius with three adults (two of them female) and all their luggage; the trunk was full as was the spare rear seat.

    Drove about 5,000 miles that trip and got some of the best MPGs that car ever made.


    Go figure.

    I had a similar experience. More weight lowers ride height, dont know if that would cause aerodynamic gains over the added weight penalty. I drive more conservative with others in the car, I think that explains the increased mpg.

    That's cute, looks like a uhf antenna tho. How is your radio reception? I am eventually going to remove mine and speed tape the hole. I'll try a dipole inside along the top of the windshield.

    Honestly I dont really listen to the radio to judge it, but the couple times that i have, the reception was fine.

    Since the 12-volt is protected by a hundred amp fuse, that would be my guess
