Most importantly: what colour is it?

Interesting, that it's a 1/2 gallon: more in line with what a DIY'r needs, just for topping up. And good price.

Still, I would stick with the Toyota fluid: you need to buy a full gallon, it's kinda steep (around $25) but you can sleep at night, and eventually you can use it all, with a coolant change.

Saw that. I would use it except I already/still have a lot of the old concentrated stuff.

I'm assuming the one gallon is concentrate? Otherwise cheaper by the 1/2gal
If it's concentrated for $15, pick it up Jim, when you see it again, I'll come get it from you and try it out.

Toyota has Red Long Life Coolant and Pink Super Long Life Coolant. They are not the same but they will work with your Toyota.

    Pink last much longer

Thank you for this information. Even if you use distilled water? Curious as to why....

Yeah, I'm aware...I like to try the unconventional
There are people on here, who have you think that any non- OE fluid is highly combustible, and your engine will suddenly burst into flames and your car will melt to the ground, if you don't use Toyota WS transmission fluid, etc LOL

From memory, I believe the Red Concentrate is good for 30,000 miles vs Pink 50/50 is good for 50,000 miles.

I think the Red formula came out first and then the pink stuff. The initial pink coolant fill from the factory is good for 100K+ miles, just the drain and fill is reduced to 50,000. They kept the red coolant for the older cars that want to use it.

I think the reduction is because you cannot drain every drop from you car, so the remaining coolant gets diluted/mixed and needs to be changed out quicker than the original fill from the factory

Maybe too whatever is prone to go "off", say internal corrosion of coolant passages, is slower on a brand new engine. Who knows.
