I used this feature with my 2008 Prius to mark my route in a rural mountain road in Nevada City where the street names were incomplete and the Nav couldn't reconcile a route. Once I found it I laid down "breadcrumbs" and never had a problem finding that location again.

Okay, I can see how using it to return to a place I've been before could be useful, if the system has trouble routing to "Previous Start Point" or the like. But how do you decide when to use it, or what is the recommended use case? I turned on the option and only later noticed what it actually did -- by then I had breadcrumbs criss-crossed over the greater Houston metro area (not very useful). When I turned the option off, it asked if I wanted to save (said 'no') and the dots were gone. If you answer 'yes' does it leave the dots on the map (despite turning the display option off)? Otherwise, it seems to add and add and add... making the dots less useful, particularly (I'd think) if you were making many different trips within in a smaller area?

I think it has a very limited value in small cases. In 8 years I only really needed it the one time.

Mine has no mention of "passenger seat cushion airbag" - maybe only some markets. I've never actually heard of them in the cushion, but they could well be.

The side airbags are in the side of the backrest - centred roughly. The stitching is designed to split, and seat covers for the past 6 yrs +/- have had gaps - just check that you put the correct ones on the correct side of the car. Check out this video about 54 seconds in.

It first debut in North America on the Yaris then the iQ. The Prius c also had it at since 2012.

The idea is that it's an anti-submarining feature - it's designed to prevent you from sliding under the seatbelt. Or rather, prevent the lap belt part of the seatbelt from riding up and potentially injuring your organs.

These are your heated seat settings for the "LO" and "HI". It dictates the part of the seats that get heated (and I guess the temperature too?)

Yes, and I believe that is the area of the recall I just received. Front passenger seat airbag.

Is this the same for Gen4 2016 and 2017?

This is for the Gen 4 (2016+). The Gen 3 only had a single stage heated front seat (except the PiP, which had two-stage)

I posted this in another thread, but it's still something I consider an "obscure" fact. I noticed last summer when I would use cruise control, which was usually when I was cruising at 65-70 MPH, EV mode never engaged. Even down a hill at 70 with CC on, no EV icon until I took it off CC, the EV icon would pop up a moment later. The other day, I learned that the Prius will still switch to EV mode while in cruise control at 55-60 MPH. I don't see it go into EV at higher speeds with CC on, though. But I didn't really play that much with it. I assume that at a certain speed with CC on, the system decides to keep the engine spinning to protect something. Wonder what speed though.

One of my sisters used to call the sounds my 2G Prius made immediately after shutting it off "the dialtone". That always made me laugh. I haven't heard any interesting sounds from the 4G yet, but I've never been inside it five hours after turning it off,

Always wondered what might happen if that button was pushed while doing 70 down the freeway. What will the park button do?

    It's in the manual - page 645.

Either press and hold or press three times in quick succession to disable to hybrid system.

OK, I got one...very, very obscure. Anyone notice that when you have the Prius vehicle charging display on the screen, you see the wheels spinning. But did you notice the wheels actually spin faster if you get up to highway speeds?

I notice Prius cabbies always show that screen, never the Hybrid Synergy Display, lol.
