I noticed the same thing too. Today it's lightly snowing. I had to open the hatch to put some luggage in, and much to my surprise, snow did not get into the vehicle. I imagine the hatch was designed this way. Great feature.

Yes you can. We've got a box of Kleenex in the little drawer and the cup holders are almost always open.

Yeah, I just found it almost 3 years into it. Darndest thing, I was cleaning the front cup holders and found out that I could lift the whole assembly off by lifting up. Low and behold, after lifting the cup holder assembly off, what to my wondering eyes did appear? A secret drawer underneath quietly awaiting discovery. Darn handy too.

You don't need to buy the little square boxes of tissues to fit in the storage drawer under the cupholders. We take the full pack of tissues out of a standard size box and put them in the drawer (without the box), then close the drawer except for about 2" with the end of the top tissue sticking out. And there you have it, your own full-zize tissue dispenser. Has anyone else done that?

Regarding the glovebox, there is a slot in the back bottom shelf that is the perfect size to hold the owners manual! This holds the plastic cover, manual and papers in the back, vertical and out of the way which frees the rest of the glove box.

Nope, I went the square-tissue-box route but yours is a pretty good idea!

    Informed speculation, perhaps.

I say "informed" because it's become blatantly obvious to me from reading the posts in the forum, and in this thread in particular, that virtually no one reads the owner's manual.

I took a guess--an informed guess--that such was the case here, too. And guess what?

07 Prius owner's manual, page 146, middle column, item (f) Parking:

It's clearly spelled out. I don't know why anyone would say this is an "obscure" fact.

Actually, I don't know why anyone in his right mind would take delivery of a car like this and not read the owner's manual carefully, perhaps more than once, and familiarize himself with the intricacies of the vehicle.

Shall I also mention what page mentions those "funny little things by the door handles, the ones with the red stickers on them"?

    Sorry wrong quote...

This really is a great idea! A google search for "Four Barrel Coin Changer" will yield tons of results. I cannot wait to finally have my change organized!

The pitch and tone of the left turn signal is different than the pitch and tone of the right turn signal.

The DC outlet under the radio can provide more current than the DC outlet in the middle arm rest.

Might this be the best way to run a charger cord (like for a cell phone) from the Outlet in the Center Console????

And where in the heck is the sensor for the outside temperature?

You had your Prius for a year and a half and still haven't read the owner's manual?

Don't have the gear to tell you. What I do know is that my 150W power inverter (ie.. Over 12 A) does not work on the one in the arm rest. Inverter signals an audible alarm which (according to the inverter manual) signifies insufficiently low power. Under the radio however is a different story. Works there no problem

Any techs online able to elaborate on my experiment?
