Motorweek has scheduled the 2010 Prius as a part of their next program. It's interesting that I became aware of it since I had given up on that show due to their juvenile manner with the camera. Lots of inappropriate zooming - about what you would expect if you gave the camera to a 6 year old.

I'm not sure the zoom lens had been invented when I first started watching Motorweek, but I was much younger then and not the old curmudgeon that I have become. I actually remember John Davis when he had hair!

In my part of the country the show is scheduled for Friday, April 10 at 10:30AM on the Speed channel. You may find it on Public Television, depending on on your location.

You can watch the video here

I saw it on the local PBS station last week. Nothing really new for the diehards here but fun enough to watch anyway. Since this is an early test done before the car is released they don't have the normal track tests that they usually have.

It was a pleasure to watch. They forgot to mention the Touch Tracer!

    Found the HQ video:

A little light on details. But certainly positive.

I guess I've missed this all this time but I heard the comment that rear legroom went down a bit more thatn 2 inches. That's too bad. One of the most common and most favorable comments I would get from anyone I put in the back seat of my '09 is the legroom. They're quite impressed to see how much my car has.

There is plenty of rear leg room. They increased rearward travel for front seats, but also redesigned the backs of the front seatbacks to give back some of the reduced kneeroom. See this thread:

I can't wait for Top Gear to review the 2010.

Even though they panned the Gen II Prius, it was funny as all heck to watch.

I am very interested in the EGR cooling system shown at 1:59 into the U-tube video. We didn't have anything like this at the autoshows.

Has anyone got a better photo?

I'm looking at the frame and the pipe connecting to the aluminum color structure does not make a lick of sense. That aluminum structure doesn't make sense, yet.

    Any thoughts?

It sounds like they mistook the 17" wheels and LED headlights as "standard".

This is an offshoot of that damn Center Console. Front passengers have to stretch-out backwards into rear passenger space because of it. Me, my arms, are so short, that I will just be bashing my knee into that damn thing!!

I like the sleeker contour vs the 08, and the better gas mileage. I don't like the dash and the center console, which cuts down front leg room. I was really looking for Li ion batteries in 2010. If you can steal an 09 for cheap, it might be worth it.
