MPG avrg too high.. way too high

    Don't forget outside temperature. The engine runs a lot more during cold weather. I've seen my MPG drop to the lower 40s since the morning temps have dropped below 40.

    I've noticed the car's MPG estimate is usually about 2 to 4 MPG higher than my fill-up calculations. But it agrees with the ScanGauge estimate.

    1) This is an ancient thread
    2) The OP has a Gen 2 Prius, you have a Gen 3 Prius, the MFD MPG is not the same.
    3) The OP never signed on Prius Chat ever again once he posted in May of 2009
