I am curious on how you tested your car. Because mine works very similar to what Carolyn showed in the video.

I tested this at about 40 mph (I wasn't on the freeway). Floor the accelerator pedal, then keep your right foot on the accel and push firmly on the brake with your left foot. My car comes to a stop very quickly (approx 3 sec). The Scangauge shows that the engine speed goes from over 4k to under 1k in the same 3 sec. I can also hear the engine speed drop.

Interestingly, you can then rev the engine up above 2k once stopped but the brakes hold the car stationary.

Try this from 40 mph and see if your car doesn't stop within 3 sec.

Well that wasn't the question. Like most cars prior to recently, the prius (Gen II) does not have an over ride. When you stomp the brake while holding down the gas pedal, does your prius stop? Because our 2004 will not only stop ... there's enough brake power to cause the lock up of the drive tire(s) to make 'em skid to a halt ... if you didn't mind wasting the rubber.

It does override the throttle - the revs drop below 1k even though the accel pedal is floored. I did this a couple of times last evening to test it.

You are correct that there is enough brake power to lock up the wheels momentarily and the skid control (ABS) light will come on. I probably won't do this again very often - I don't want to flat spot my tires.

Well, it was POURING today, so I didn't even attempt to do another test. The selling dealer is trying to squeeze my car in among the recalls (every one of their service bays is occupied with what seems like cars having the pedal recall being performed), so stay tuned.
