Mudflaps????

    First of all I'm confident that the chassis is not the same as the Corolla...I'd like to know from a reliable source if I'm wrong, but I'm 99% sure the Prius was a ground up build.

    Second, even if it were built on the same Chassis the mudflaps wouldn't fit...the mud flaps don't have anything to do with the chassis, they have to do with the body and the body style of the Prius is quite unique and different from the Corolla.

    While it might be a bit cheaper, even after paying shipping, you're contributing to PriusChat and supporting the site instead of some random ebay seller who doesn't give a crap about the car, only your money...so if you can spare the extra couple bucks I'd also encourage you to buy from the PCshop.

    I have noticed that a good amount of debris etc is kicking up on the side of the car. Do you think that drilling the holes would cause rust over time? What are the pros and cons to the mudguards?
    Can anyone help me with considering buying these.

    Drilling holes in plastic does not cause rust (in any part of the world).

    I was not worried about the plastic. I was worried about the hole and possibly water getting in between the plastic and the CAR METAL. I drive alot on the highway at 65 MPH and SNOW and RAIN and rocks.
    Are they worth it?

    Rust isn't an issue, you're drilling into plastic with nothing behind it...thus, not letting moisture onto any metal.

    I think they're worth it, particularly in the front where all the mud spashes up onto the rear view mirror and side window without them.

    I think they are.

    As sleeka implies and you seem to realize, the holes are drilled in the plastic of the bottom rear wheel wells. Specifically, it's just a lip of plastic that lines the edge of the wheel well, with no seal of any sort between it and adjacent sheet metal. So there should be no route of water penetration that doesn't already exist.

    Depending on where in the country you live, you may want to bypass the sheet metal screws included with the mud flaps and get stainless steel screws. Mine have rusted.

    The Toyota OEM's are a great fit, and easy to install. The rear ones seemed loose on the inside, so I added a 4th screw to secure them better.
