Hello, I recently serviced my 07 Prius. Put in new injectors, plugs, ignition coils. It blew the head gasket after a day. I replaced the headgasket, timing chain, water pump, crank and cam sensor. All new fluids. Before and after the head gasket replacement I am getting multiple cylinder misfires. Currently getting codes P0300, P3190 (P3000 and P0a80. Likely due to the hybrid battery running low since the rough run isn't charging it well). Is it possible the plug, ignition, injector kit I got was bad?
I forgot to mention it is running fuel rich. Attempting to start now, it revs then shuts down with the red triangle.
Most of my issue was purchasing and using a non EOM O2 sensor (air/fuel ratio sensor). The non EOM system out the box was apparently stuck in a lean. I installed a new Denso O2 and the car will now mostly run and drive without issues. I have reconditioned the battery pack (replaced a few bad blocks) and eliminated the red triangle. I am still having an issue with random misfires and the new O2 saying the engine is running rich. Current codes it get are P0172(rich), P0300 (misfires), intermittent P030(1,2,3,4). Could the engine still running rich and the misfires be caused by the aftermarket fuel injectors that I installed? I do not have the originals to swap back out to test.
probably you have an oil burner causing your spark plugs to get fouled up. Try pulling out your plugs and see if they are filled with soot/carbon. running rich with misfires is a recipe for cooking up your cats. It's also possible that the head gasket issue wasn't fixed. Have you tried cleaning your MAF sensor?
Fuel injectors would be at the top of my list. I have read a number of posts here about problems stemming from aftermarket parts - including injectors. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
