Multiple problems with my 2008. Please help.

    I wouldn't bother repairing it, with 200+k miles on it, best to get another engine or sell the car

    You might have to repair the Prius so that it can continue to be driven. That does not mean that you need to repair the existing engine. Having logged 225K miles, it would be much better for you to replace both the engine and transaxle with a used, low mileage assembly from a salvage yard.

    Also, you need to face the likelihood that the high voltage traction battery is near end of life. After the engine has been replaced you may still need to spend another $2K or more on a replacement battery. This is why the advice to you is to consider getting a different vehicle.
