You are either mistaken, or lying. But thanks for sharing. Be sure to post again when you can use your real name.

The best way to tell is that if they have less than 2 or 3 posts and are clearly trolls then we've probably banned them!

And yea, rogercordia is bye-bye too.

Yeah, but I don't smell like bad fried chicken when I'm cruising down the highway.

The biodiesel Jetta converted by the kids at West Philly HS got 59.3mpg while the kids from St. Mark's got 44.5mpg in the rally. The St. Mark's car is owned by a teacher, probably the car club's advisor. I tried finding a link quickly but couldn't. If you can find the schools perhaps the clubs can help. Perhaps if you contact http://www.eevc.info/index.html someone will supply an e-mail address.

The shop class at San Dieguito High converted a Jetta into an EV.

A friend of mine back in Fargo ran biodiesel in a Jetta. He did it because it's carbon neutral, if you ignore the fossil fuel used to grow the soybeans. The french-fry smell was not all that bad, especially compared to either gasoline or diesel fumes. I don't like any kind of diesel, but there are definitely points in its favor. My friend was buying fuel made from virgin oil because he didn't want to have to filter his own oil. But I applaud anybody who is driving on post-consumer fry oil.

But personally I dislike diesels so much that I'd much prefer my Prius over any diesel. That is, when I actually have to drive more than 45 miles in a day, which is very seldom. For shorter trips, electric is the only way to go.

Totally agreed! Driving a gasoline-buring car and complaining about the smell of fryer oil is a bit odd.

I was wondering why he hadn't replied. This is the first I've been on here in week. I've been too busy to suffer withdrawal.

Isn't there a wait list for PV's? I had to wait 8 months when I had mine installed 3 years ago.

    Not much anymore.

One quote was for installation in August. They have to order their stuff. The other quote was for even sooner. They stock their stuff in a warehouse.

It's easy to get better cost per mile when you are not paying road tax or paying for your fuel. My 100 ton flatbed cost me 0 cents per mile becuase I was not buying the fuel. I think this guy meant that his truck got more meals per gallon!
