I got the triangle of doom, the ((!)) and the check engine a few days ago. Took it is and had these codes

    B1421 soloe circut
    P3000 HV Malfunction
    P0A80 Replace HV
C2318 Low volt error P supply
    C2300 Actuator System Malfunction

So I'm guessing a new HV battery- not sure which one- but the C codes "actuator"o malfunction. My brother is a mechanic... we are working through the issues- but are the C codes as pricy as the HV replacement? Im probably getting a rebuilt battery for 900-1000- but is it worth the additional cost of the C codes too. Has anyone else had these two problems at once? Help!

    Welcome to PriusChat!!

When was the 12v battery last replaced, and what voltage are you seeing at the jumper start points under the hood?

There are a few workups for DTC P3000 : We have five (5) INFs (subcodes) that are related to this DTC, check the scanner results again for INF, Detail Code, or sub code. The OBD2 scanning device may show something that looks like a small cloud, flower, or puff of smoke as an icon that you need to click on. Below are the workups for DTC P3000 with the various INFs :

Never bought a rebuilt before, only rebuild them myself. My last failed HV battery needed some cleaning, one module replaced, minimal balancing, and is now approaching two (2) years and 16k+ trouble free miles on the road. Your mileage may vary.

Before investing is a replacement, pull apart what you currently have for a quick look see and take some voltage measurements. The longer you leave it unused the easier it will be to see the voltage droop, or you can fire up techstream and test drive it instead.

Try : Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market for a NiMH HV battery, from a wrecked gen2/3/4 (known verifiable age/mileage only).
