    This is the readme.txt file that is supplied with the latest BASIC program. It sounds like you never bothered reading it.

    If you do not like how the program works or you think there is a mistake or a problem, want to use a LCD screen with pushbuttons then feel free to make your own changes. I like it the way it is.

    However I will take note of any problems you encounter and I may or may not deal with it later. Thanks for bringing up any problems you have.

    UPDATE: The status screen now shows "Warm up" (Unsolicited CANbus message H3C8 Data0=6) instead of "ICE Run" when started. Once the ICE has warmed up it will show "ICE Run"

    That you changed that and added it to the readme i did not now.
    I did not read the readme every time you put a new code up......

    I bought this programmable keypad here Cherry G84-4700 Programmable Keypad Squirrel Grey PS2 G84-4701TNAUS | eBay
    The instructions to program the keypad keys is not too hard to follow and it works (instructions are attached in PDF). Once the keys are programmed they stay in memmory despite powering down. It just uses the num lock key (the one next to F1) to program the keys and the numlock key is the only key which cannot be programmed. The PS2 plug inlet on the Cherry keypad is for plugging in a full ps2 keyboard which is used during programming the Cherry keypad by capturing the full ps2 keyboard data. I just happened to have a vinyl label printer at work that I have used to relabel the keys. See Photo below. This is just one option that works. It can be used with a cheap VGA 7" monitor that does not have a touch screen panel.

    I tried it out and it just sits on the arm rest and I have quick access whilst driving. I will try sticking the keypad down with velcro tape. It sits well in the cup holder of the middle console as shown in the photos.

    Today was a scorcher. The ambient temperature reached 41 deg.C. After driving in forced EV mode for about 45 mins to work the ECT reached 46 deg.C. I also drove to work with the airconditioning running at full power to cool down the cabin and the two Enginer Converters. See photo below. Is anybody getting any readings for the Catalyst 1 and 2 temperatures and water outlet temperatures ?

    Yes, B1S1 and B1S2 are sollicitated pid and give you the 2 catalyst temp (computed values).
    I used this pid years ago when using tactrix dongle. They are now described in berkeley xls.

    Thanks Planetaire. I cannot get values for B1S1 or B1S2 using my miniVCI using techstream software so I assume that my particular model 2004 does not measure these values. I used the solicited PIDs given by Berkley.xls but all I get is 0.

    I think it is the water outlet of the CHS (coolant heat storage) tank. It is a totally seperate temperature sensor to the ECT sensor.

    Mmm your cooling must be working great.. my inverter temp on canview have reached 65 C on regular bases during the summer and that was even without the plugin.....

    Did you test in OOG mode or Hybrid mode ?

    Here, in France, we don't have any coolant heat storage tank. So I cannot test this pid.

    How does the ECM know if the car is warm up if it does not measure these values? If it did not display in Techstream, it does not necessary mean those PIDs are not supported. I suggest you try 213D and 213F, these 2 are also catalyst temp.

    Thanks Vincent. I tried it and the result is the same. The reason I am getting zero is because nothing is returned from the requested PID. If a zero was returned then the formula would give me a value of -40.

    Incidentally I also get the same zero result for Vehicle load and absolute load value and which also do not show up on the Techstream software.

    You might want to check your region selection for Techstream. AFAIK, CHS is only for North America region, did you fit an aftermarket CHS?

    I did not know that. I doubt if I have a CHS, probably not since I cannot get a temperature value for it.
    My Techstream software has a setup for either USA or Europe. I had it setup for USA and then changed it to Europe and still could not find Catalyst temperatures.

    Yours must be the older ver., the newer ver. has North America, Europe, Japan and Other. I think Australia falls in the Other region.

    Yeap, Version 4.21.002. I will try to get the latest version 7 for miniVCI tomorrow. Maybe there is a different PId address for the catalyst temperatures.

    I have updated to Techstream Ver 7.10.030 and then setup area selection to "Other" and still will not show temperature values for the catalytic converters.

    Hmmm...that is puzzling. If the CHS does not show up, the region setting should be correct.

    I have 2 more suggestions:
    1. In Techstream, instead of "Connect to Vehicle", use "Generic OBDII". This forces the scanner to read standard PIDs as defined by SAE J1979.
    2. Try Mode 01 instead of Mode 21, 013C or 013E, for std PIDs.
