    40% EV is still great.

I did 4 miles round trip for lunch and 5 miles for dinner. My EV ratio raised to 30%.

On Sunday, I am going to the Giant stadium for a game so I am expecting my EV ratio to come down.

Ok - I'm ready to brag. Almost 5K miles and over 80% EV on it.
It works very well for me. But, I do have to work hard at charging it. I often charge 2 or 3 times a day.

Very impressive! Please provide details on the strategies you employ to achieve a 4:1 EV:HV ratio.

I totally missed where you traded in your GenII for the PIP. Congrats, bro! :)

Torque is an Android app that talks to a OBD adapter to provide a custom instrumentation dashboard and logger.

Torque for Android Web OBD log viewer

The custom PIDs are vehicle specific codes for reading sensors from the OBD port, like battery state of charge, power flow, regen power, etc...

    I work hard at it.
I have a level 2 charger in my garage. I use it even for 10-20 minutes at a time if I have to come home from work and then go out again soon for a short trip. Using the level 2 charger I get about 1 mile per 7 minutes of charging time.
When I drive the carpool to school and then to work, I do stop and charge on the way and work on my laptop for the 30 minutes it takes to recharge.
    I *always* recharge at work.
I make heavy use of chargepoint stations - even if I occasionally have to pay outrageous rates, although most chargepoint stations in the San Jose area are free. Overall, I've paid about $10 to chargepoint in charging fees in the last 7 months.
And finally, the cheating way out - I take our 2008 Prius on most trips longer than about 25 miles. But, since it gets almost as good mileage.... Truth be told, I think I'd be at 60% if I didn't use the other Prius for those trips. And, the PiP would have gotten better mileage so overall I would have saved more gas. But, I've been actively trying to see how good a ratio I could get so I drove the other one anyway even on these longer trips.

    2 more things I do:

I use the GPS short route option a LOT. It has helped many times to make a non-EV trip into a fully-EV trip.

And, I also choose to drive the PiP for any trip within the EV range. So, for most trips less than 7 miles, I now drive the PiP and do not drive the 2008 Gen2.

Including 15% charging loss, you are averaging 29.6kWh/100mi on electricity.

You have actually consumed 2.73 gallons (322 total miles / 118 mpg = 2.73 gallons). You are getting 44.7 MPG on gas miles.

Combined, you are getting 72 MPGe.

With the charging loss included, you are averaging 27 kWh/100mi on electricity and averaging 50.8 MPG on gas.

Combined, you are getting 83 MPGe.

    With 15% charing loss included:

    Electricity efficiency: 26.9 kWh/100mi (269Wh/mi)
Gasoline efficiency: 51.1 MPG (estimate from fuel saved) / 58.3 MPG (932 mi/16 gal)

Combined efficiency: 98.2 MPGe (using approx) / 102.8 MPGe (using truncated gallon)

I guess I need to ease up on the pedal at 30kWh/100mi, or start taking the side roads.
