    oh bummer dude, sorry to hear it. that's my biggest fear. every time i hold down the trip reset, i feel like i'm screwing something up!:confused:

    Just to give you guys an update, since I moved out of NY two years ago, I reset my trip meter. All the miles racked up in the screenshot below were driven in NJ with the new commute.

    I have been averaging 150 MPGe on electricity (176 MPGe without charging loss) and 54 MPG on gas. Love my PiP!

    The EV ratio is lower than my normal (43%) because there was 6 months I couldn't charge and also when the gas price dropped, I stopped charging. I have been charging daily since I got my solar panels.

    In the last 6 months since solar panels were installed, I have driven 4,543 miles.

    Outside of the solar energy (461 kWh) to power my EV miles, my PiP has burned 49 gallons. At this rate, I'll use 100 gallons per year. :)

    301 MPGe on electricity and 44 MPG on gas?

    How did you get that? Any info on how you use both gas and electric would help.

    Damn. If I had solar, which would cover the costs of charging, but at my current rate of .30cents a kW/h, I haven't plugged it in at all since it's not worth it, even with gas at 3 bucks a gallon here in Los Angeles.

    Am I reading this correctly? He gets 100 Wh per mile. That's more than twice the efficiency I can go EV.

    at 24 cents/kwh, it's costing me, but it's more fun than gas. i'm still driving without heat.

    Hello USB,
    I drive approximately 60 miles to work each way with a 8 to 10 mile downhill ride. I get about 30 miles of EV. I drive approximately 60 miles to work each way with the 8 to 10 mile downhill ride. I get about 30 miles of EV each way. I am able to charge at work with charge point. Throughout Las Vegas charge point stations are available, and I use them as often as possible. My 2013 will be hitting 80,000 miles this month. I really didn't think it was anything special but I'm very aware of my driving habits. I am very happy with the results the car has given us.

    Well if I drove 8 miles downhill each way to work daily, my EV efficiency would be through the roof too.

    More importantly the number of gallons I have consumed in the last 6 months have been zero and thanks to my generous employer my electrons have been almost all renewable.

    Still didn't answer my question though. The question was your electron economy, not your gasoline consumption.

    It's something crappy like 3 mi/kWh. No doubt in part due to the fact that I can drive this car like a maniac and it responds accordingly.

    Depending on who you include in my household, you could say we have a second car. An i3 BEV ;-)

    That is indeed crappy. Potorap did 9 mi/kWh. His gas efficiency hit was about 10% but the mind blowing electron efficiency was worth it.

    That's the benefit of having synergy drive with two fuels. If you know how to utilize them well, you can bring out the best of both worlds.

    BEV or ICE cars with a single source are unable to tap that.

    You know full well that's a dishonest comparison. I told you I drive aggressively. I also don't have 8 miles of downhill driving. I go 10 miles above the speed limit everywhere.

    Plus there's something to be said about driving 80 mph on a concrete-lined highway with less cabin noise than a Prius driving 30 mph on a residential asphalt paved street.
