It could be 1 thing or a combination of things:

    1. After taking out spark plugs, I put 4 oz of MMO in the spark plug holes and soaked overnight. I went to syphon it out and it had gone through. I was going to do it twice, but didn’t.
    2. Put a can of seafoam spray through the throttle body.
    3. Pour a half a bottle of MMO in the gas tank for the last 2 tanks of gas.

It’s still too early to say. It’ll be more clear after 4,000 to 5,000 miles.

Another tank of gas and oil level still looks good! Fingers crossed it keeps going this way.. loosing a qt every 800mi sucked :-/

    She’s puurring again too!

I will be changing transmission fluid next week. I wanted to let things settle down before doing anything else.

    198,525 miles.. here’s to another 100,000!

First signs of burning some oil.

Topped her off at 198,778. Leaving this here for myself for reference.

What was the odometer reading at the oil change? It was at the full mark then?

Odo was 197,108.. 1,671 miles since change. Was at full line. I would have added a qt and a half by now before. Definitely an improvement. We’ll see what it looks like at next gas fill. This was a half tank check because I hadn’t put any oil in a while. This was about 3.5 tanks of gas.

Here's a breakdown, played with it in AutoCAD. The distance between the two pips represents 1.5 liters, which is more-or-less the same as quarts:

I would have put what I just filled at a little more than 1/4 qt. I also think I left it just shy of the full pip.

I’m guessing it’s an older copy at its now subscription based. If you type Dview in the command line, select all, then TWist you can rotate your work to be easier to see. ;)

I've been using ACAD since maybe 1990.

My (pirated) version is 2009. The main thing new versions bring is a headache, sorting through the "lastest" cr@p, getting it back into working order. I think the last worthwhile thing they did was increase the amount you could zoom in before a regen was required. I think that was version 12?

I used to have about a kajillion commands in my head, but I'm rusty, lol.

For rotation of view, I would just set a 3 point UCS, normal to whatever I want, then, Plan>Current UCS.

Note though, images (like the dipstick) seem to be lost when you do that.

I think he's saying no oil added?

You know, I'm thinking to research, how to photograph a dipstick with a cell phone, and not have it focus on the ##$! back ground, lol. It's tough.

With iPhone, if you press-and-hold in the display, it'll lock focus, after a sec or two. Seems promising.

Disclosure: I have multiple DSLR's at my disposal, but what do I use...

It looks higher and cleaner to me. I have noticed my oil looks cleaner when I add oil.

No oil needed! It looks cleaner because the last time it was completely cold. This time I checked about 5 min after stopping for gas, so it was warm, but not hot. I wasn’t too worried about focus because I could see the oil on the dipstick. Next time I’ll be a little more particular.

I also added about 16oz of MMO to the gas tank.

She set off a Catalytic Converter code last week. We’re thinking that the rattle on acceleration I’ve been hearing for a long time (and some of the other issues) may be that the Cat has needed to be replaced for some time now (like 70,000mi). The check engine light was on for 2 days and then disappeared. Waiting it out for now, but may be looking at replacing the Cat soon.

This is the exact rattle I’ve been hearing. I had been told it was a heat shield, but now think it’s the Cat.

Next fill up.. I did a half tank of gas fill in between full gas fills. The pump was screwy and I didn’t feel like pulling to another one.. lol

No oil needed and looking good! I’m going to check with a cooler engine in the next couple of days. This was just shy of operating temp. This was also after I cleared the stick 2x. It looked the same all 3 pulls.

199,812 mi.. and counting down.. 07A9E136-5470-4762-8061-6DB652FD66C5.jpeg

Pull the dipstick and wipe it, then wait about 5 minutes before checking, can help.

I was sitting at a busy gas station and didn’t have 5 min. This was after I got home and she sat for about 2 hrs. Could use a little to get to full, but I’m going to let it ride for a 1/2 tank of gas and check then. Either way.. oil consumption is WAY down from what it was.
