Couple of weeks ago, I parked my car in the park and walked away to join my family only to hear a loud cracking sound. I turned back and saw a Nissan Sentra kissing my Optimus on the lips.

The Sentra's rear bumper is higher than the front of the Prime, so her bumper ended up cracking the Transparent Panel in the front.

I included the pictures as well as the Repairs Estimate for your reference.

I am so sorry to hear this. What is it with these other cars? Are they jealous? It is not right damaging a car until at least the 3rd year of ownership. Hope it gets repaired soon. I plan on parking a mile away from stores just in case.

I'd question why they need to replace the park sensors.

Luckily for me, my employer pays for the $1000 deductible and my auto insurance so it is free for me. Good thing I am not the guy of person that would get mad or upset over an incident such as this and bend out of shape because my car has been damaged. It happens and it was a young lady who claimed that this was her first car accident so it was not a biggie. She was from Arizona too, so maybe not used to the tight spaces we Californians have to put up with lol, although there was plenty of space in front and behind her car.

Anyways, Optimus is a fighter and would not be right without some battle scars. :)

Still....it was brand new. Should not her insurance pay for it?

I believe he has comprehensive. Then it is the fight between insurance companies. As the insured, you don't need to worry about it. Not even the deductible which will be refunded after the deal is done.

Something wrong with the picture, when this costs a grand:

    upload_2017-2-9_9-36-13.png

Plastic glass-jaws hanging out in front, capped with a protruding license plate bracket.

    Jeep Wrangler:

Hmm, those look like the good 'ol $20 sealed-beams, too. I'm guessing they're separate bulbs, but likely simpler/cheaper then the 4th gen Prius $1200 units.

Looks like if it had hit a few inches to the right the lic plate would have taken it.

Actually I think it was the pure pressure that broke the plastic panel. I believe her car bumper push into the license plate.

Cars with actual bumper styling are expensive to fix. I always feel bad for the people I see that have a huge dent in their new car that still has the dealer plate on... except if it was their fault.
