I just posted a video about the Prius speedometer display that I like here it is. You can watch it here. For more on the Prius you can visit my youtube channel. There is a link in the video.

In conjunction with HUD, it's great. I find I generally use the HUD, and it focusses easier with multi-focal spectacles.

I first encountered a digital display in the centre of a hire car in about 2000 - TOYOTA Echo (Yaris) in FIJI - it was offputting for the first ½ day, but by the second day, it was second nature.

My 2016 Model Three doesn't have the HUD. For those that have it I wondered if it was distracting being almost directly in the field of vision while looking at the road ahead. I adapted fast to the dash display also.

No, the HUD is amazing - it's not distracting at all. But it seems to be more in the distance, so your eyes (in my case ageing) don't have to continually move from the distant part of multi-focal spectacles to the close-up - but it's all in the same "space".

You also don't have to glance down - it's just there.

I just wish the HUD had the EV icon too. It's redundant to have the hybrid information on the MFD and the HUD displaying almost the same information simultaneously.

That's one of the reasons I don't use the Hybrid System Indicator on the MFD. The ENERGY MONITOR is far more useful, particularly in conjunction with the HUD display.

Yes, but then you are missing the instantaneous and average MPG numbers. I know you could have them on the 7in display, but I'd rather use that one for navigation and audio.

Nevermind my comments... The MPG numbers are shown on the main display.

Nice video Jimmy, but if you did have the HUD I don't think it would make too much difference to you. My HUD is always on but even so I find myself looking to the main indicator. My HUD is fine but while you look at the road ahead, for me anyway it just stays out of focus until I look for it. Glad that, like me and others you're please with your Prius 4. Oh, and keep those videos coming..... (y)

Thanks RCO and thanks for watching. If I ever replace this Prius I will consider the HUD option. More videos are coming. I just did a test drive and review of the Kia Niro which some say is a competitor to the Prius. That should be coming soon.

Yes, just reading about the Niro. Sounds like we are getting it here, but not sure if we'll get the hybrid and EV forms. If it's a Plug-In hybrid (PHEV), I'll be interested.

From what I was told Kia is only making a hybrid version of the Niro. I did the review of the Niro EX option and I will post it here probably next week since I know some people here are interested in possible competitors to the Prius.

You're right - we're getting the "Stonic" which is similar size but petrol or diesel, but not hybrid.
