    Hi -

Is is safe to assume the 11.1 version is for all Prius generations? Or is the 2010 V use the 10.1 version?

The version, 11.1 versus 10.1, designates the year of the upgrade. Toyota updates the DVD's every year around October. 11.1 is the current latest version. 10.1 is for 2010.

The 2010-2011 Nav unit is a Gen 6 so has a DVD especially for this unit. I think 2005-2009 are Gen 5 Nav units. There is a 11.1 rev DVD for these units but are different than the 2010 Gen 6 units. You just have to be sure to let the dealer know the model year of your vehicle and they can supply the correct DVD. You cannot use a DVD for the 2010 in a 2009 or vice versa due to the generation of the Nav units. There is a 11.1 updated DVD available for all vehicles.

    Confusing I know :)

    Yes, rather.

My 2010 came with DVD ver 08.1, to upgrade I assume I would need an 11.1 for a Gen 6 nav, is that correct?

Is there any difference, other than more recent maps, between the 11.1 and previous versions?
