The navigation systems are local country add-ons.

Is there any Jordanian Prius forum that could help you understand what is used local to Jordan?

Or while there, does it make sense to pick up a portable GPS unit and use it.

The Toyota units (at least the US ones) aren't known for being great units nor being up to date with map data.

Navigation system software and hardware in Toyota vehicles are specific to geographical regions. I know people in Europe who have imported U.S. specification Toyota vehicles and they have the same problem you have.

There is a "cottage industry" in Europe where people combine the navigation software for U.S. specification Toyotas with the map data for Europe creating what some people call "hybrid" navigation system updates that function to some extent but still do not work perfectly.

The least costly solution to use a portable navigation product such as one from TomTom or Garmin - unless you can find someone who can create a hybrid navigation system update for your Prius v.
