    There was someone here in the last year with similar problem, the damper clutch thing between engine and transmission frag'd, and the shaft going into transaxle was damaged beyond repair too. He managed to repair, but it was not a lot of fun, chasing down parts, pulling the engine..

    I'd like to hear Toyota's explanation. There is no reason for a dampener to fail, unless it was flawed or damaged at installation.

    If the drive line or transmission were abused, that would be readily apparent.
