I need a clip for the plastic panel underneath the car. It's directly under the passenger seat. It's not the push on type, it's female threaded on one end and large Phillips screw on the other. I've searched online and can only find the push on type. Do I need to go to a Toyota dealer? 2011 Prius. Thanks!

Toyota part = Toyota dealer. It is going to be really cheap and probably a common part.

Unfortunately no. It has a threaded female end that screws on to a threaded stud under the car. I was hoping to avoid the long drive to the dealer. Thanks though!

Is it on the rocker panel, the big plastic piece running underneath the door sills, body colored? Those fasteners seem poorly designed, prone to fragment and fall off without any help from curbs. If so, my opinion: there no chance of that piece loosening, I would just ignore it.

It's holds the splash guard to the bottom of the car, this fastener is roughly under the passenger seat underneath the car. Wish I could figure out how to attach a pic.

Maybe you've just got to post a few more times, then you can post pics? You'll see a button below the editing window, saying "upload a file".

    Is it item 24 here?

FLOOR & RAILS for 2011 Toyota Prius

Seems like they're saying they'll sell you the whole panel, but not the fastener. That may not be the case though; I would check with dealership. They might be able to get it, for say $5~.

Those are odd fasteners, seems like you can just push them on, but to remove you need to carefully unscrew, without pushing too hard, or it just pushes back on.

    Had a look:

BINGO! That's it, thank you! I'll get to the dealer as soon as I can and see if they'll sell just the fastener. It broke off when my wife backed up over snow, now the panel hangs down a little and I don't want the whole thing to break off. Thanks

If it's the case that you do have to buy the whole panel, it looks like you could make something to replace just that fastener, say a wooden dowel for spacer and something wider as a cap.

Maybe a threaded bushing or something. I'll check with the dealer Friday and go from there. Thanks.

To anyone interested it's a $20 part, has to be ordered per Toyota dealer. I used a 1/4" threaded coupling, bolt/washer from Ace hardware, all's well for $1.30

Can you post a picture? That'd be great. And/or Ace Hardware link(s)?

I noticed when I backed out the screw when taking my pic, I could subsequently just push it down, and it was click-click-click into place. Like it's just sort of friction gripping on that stud. Which I assume is welded to car body?

Sorry, I don't have a pic or link. I bought a 1/4" by 1" long threaded coupling, screwed that onto the threaded stud under the car, then fastened the splash panel with a 1/2" long Phillip head bolt with a lock washer. The guy at Ace knew where everything was, I'm sure other hardware stores would be just as helpful.

Same thing happened to us last week! driving down the freeway then we heard this loud metal clunk sound underneath and sure enough something had actually pierced through that plastic shield which had ripped 3 of the white plastic fasteners holding it. Got home safely & took that shield off hopefully would be able to order it next week. But now the orange cables going to the front from the back battery are exposed, not good

Using your part number, I Google searched. It appears to be available from Rock Auto for $1.88:

As a side note, if you have a leak in the back brake lines, you'll need to removed these two under body panels to get at the left and right brake lines (as least for the Gen. 3s).
