Trying to help my Mom who would like to purchase a 2010 Prius package IV without navigation (she wanted a few of the options not offered on the package II or III). Dealer showed us the MSRP/ Invoice and here is what was on it.
    MSRP: $26,200
    Dealer Cost: $23,604
    Financial Reserve: $262
    Dealer Holdback: $524
    TDA: $566
    Gasoline: $10.30
    Processing & Handling: $750
    Options:
CF (Carpet Floor Mats): $200 ($127 Invoice)
PC (Special Paint – White): $220 ($127 invoice)
EF (Rear Bumper Applique): $69 ($45 invoice)
Dealer said Total MSRP was $27,439 and dealer invoice was $26,064 (not 100% sure how they got that number, it was just on the printout). Knowing these numbers, what is a good price to start out at? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Consider starting at dealer invoice and have them throw-in window tint or something else you desire.

Thank you for the confirmation. I went to TrueCar website and plugged the options and it appears the True Cost is $24,599 and the Factory Invoice $25,631. According to the website anything between those two figures would be considered a great price. Not sure if that is realistic or not though.

Read through www.carbuyingtips.com then build a car at www.aaa.com where you can also see invoice, msrp & get quotes from dealers. Don't start by telling them what you want to pay. They are selling the product so ask what they want for it. Things are not equal everywhere. Around here cars are being offered under invoice. There are plenty of cars sitting around. Don't be afraid to shop around to get exactly what you want.

Go to toyota.com and set up configuration that you want and price it.
what you actually paying to the dealer must be lower than that.
MSRP (on the sticker of the car) - $1000+ is a good "Estimate" price.
