    *update*

I am now officially half way through the treatments (chemotherapy and radiation)! I have till the 29th of June yet to go.

I've been lucky and thus far I have not felt too terrible and I still have all my hair and my weight stayed the same. I felt pretty bad the last couple days and I am working from home today because of it but I'm learning of ways to cope so I'm going to go back to work tomorrow and just grin and bear it. :)

    My schedule:
    • Chemotherapy 24 hours a day via a PICC line inserted into my arm and a tube leading to a pump that I wear in a "fanny pack". I go in once a week to change out the dressing and the pump cartidge.
    • Radiation once a day 5 days a week.
    • Blood work once a week prior to refilling my chemo pump.
Surgery will be scheduled after all the treatments are done and my immune system is back to normal. Then another round of chemo will start just to ensure we got it all.

Thank you all for the support. :)

Hang in there, friend! A good buddy just finished a round for Prostate cancer. He's doing pretty good - it's MUCH tougher in the mid-60's than at your age, so you do have that going for you! My mom is a breast cancer survivor, and dad had part of a lung removed after a lifetime of HEAVY smoking (my second-hand exposure is probably worse than most smokers, LOL) and went for many years after that. So it can be BEAT!!!

F8L I'm pulling for you, you are in my mind every time I log onto PC. If you need to go to SF for treatment and feel too ill to get home please spend the night here. I'm about 45 minutes from the GG bridge toll booth.

F8L, I've been keeping up with your progress mostly through Facebook but found this thread today thanks to the recent bumps and wanted to pass along that Nichole and I are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers while you beat this thing.

Should you ever need anything from the PriusChat community, please let me know. I know there's a lot of people with lots of connections out there.

Glad to hear everything seems to be going smoothly. Keep your chin up and know that, even though I don't believe that my thinking helps, I am thinking of you and wishing you all the best.

Thank each and every one of you....

Seriously. I am a bit overwhelmed by your sincerity and I'll admit, misty-eyed.

I have plenty of friends that are trying to help me locally but your thoughts and prayers here in the PC community are just as helpful and very much appreciated. While I do not get to hang out with you guys often or even at all, I think it is still appropriate to call you friends after all we share back and forth each day on this crazy construct of Danny's. :)

John, if for some reason I end up in SF and too tired to make it back I'll look you up. That is a very generous offer my friend.

And Danny, thank you so much for making PC happen. I've met so many wonderful people in here and learned so much that I wanted you to know how much impact this site has on so many of us. Thank you bru.

You got the whole crew behind ya mate, so don't stumble or they will trample you.
Nah, no way, you stumble and the crew will pick you up again.
All the best with your treatment F8L, we are all watching your progress looking forward to a successful resolution and more verbal jousting on PC for a bloody long time to come.

I'm glad to hear you are doing so well. I'm sure this is not what you expected to be dealing with at this time in your life, but your youth and energy should work in your favor. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

The cup is always full. It's the portions of air and water that's in question. :)

F8L I am currently reading a memoir by Michael J Fox, and he writes; "during times of personal struggle, we've all heard people tell us they would "pray for us." Just an expression, I'd always thought, until I felt the power of that sentiment when it is offered, and meant, by tens of thousands of people. The feeling is overwhelming; I have no doubt that being on the receiving end of so much spiritual energy has gone a long way to sustain me over the last couple of years. I no longer under-estimate the power of prayer."

I know we are not tens of thousands of people, but I hope those of us who are thinking and praying for you can have the same affect upon you. :pray2:
