I just grabbed the first PRI I could after having such good luck with my '05.

Love this car but their is an unsetettelling "roughness" ft, rt and MPG was 38 MPG.

I attributed the mialege to old stale gas. 3 tanks later and ample applications of Lucus injector cleaner, love that stuff and up to just under 45 MPG. Temps here in CT. are dropping but still in the 40s.

She has 129K miles on her. (Paid $5K) And not one thing extra. Just glad it has lights, a radio and air in the tires. That need to be replaced. Lol, change the oil light came on day 2 of owning her.

So needs every thing maint. wise. But have to prioritize for now. As I drive 200 miles a day, MPG is important. Engine air filter and 12v battery check in the morning. Hehe, just learned how.
    (Thanks again Bisco)

But any thoughts on order or suggestions on what I should address first are greatly welcomed! Spent an hr trying to find out how to chicken dance the Gen III, ....

Hey, no fob hole in the dash. What'a ya do if battery dies?

It's like a whole new type of car. Kinda frustrating. Youboob vids all seem to be for gen2.

    congrats!
if the fob battery dies, just holt it up to the start button and push. there is an rfid chip in the fob.

do you have the maintenance history, it should have had plugs and fluids by now i think.

    Hey Bisco!

    Thanks 2ce!

Yes, she did the dealership, regular stuff. I should read it more carefully. Reading the recommended, think the 120K stuff was coming up and she let it go as she was trading it in.

One thing I love about the 3 over the Gen 2 is the pep! Gets going and ya ain't praying as you join traffic on the highway.

The other one thing is way better radio! Really hated my 2's radio.

Gonna go look at maint. history now. Engine air filter is dirty so thinking she is gonna need everything.

44 MPG is saying somethings up...

Transaxle fluid will be crying for change, if it's not been done.

Hate to bring up dirty words but oh well: EGR. Watch @NutzAboutBolts video on that, pinned in 3rd gen maintenance forum.

Ditto for brake fluid change, watch his video.

More dittos: throttle body cleaning, intake manifold cleaning.

Yes and thank you, Mendel! Was figuring I would work my way down the list.

Following Bisco's thought, gonna see what should be most needed. It even needs wipers, LoL

    -------------------------------

Side note Bisco, developing a "SVT" (semi varible transmission for the motorbikes based on the Prius styl CVT. Works great in my head.

...they always do. Dang reality always getting in the way!

    LoL, Menel.

I produce engine kits ya bolt on bicycles. Not enough ponies for gears. This engine is around 1.3 brake HP. The goal is to have a low and high end. As is with such a short powerband and a 12:1 gear ratio. They chug,dugga-dugga off the line and strain at wide open.

so goal is to have it around 14:1 gear ratio as a sort of first gear but drop to maybe 10 (8) to one.

This is kind of the wholly grail. (deliberate) of motorbikes. Better use of very limited power. To be legal in most U.S. states, they have to be under 50cc.

Scooters solved this problem using a CVT and small wheels. I have to come up with a work around.

You said the oil light came on. I would highly suggest you check the oil weekly to make sure your not burning oil. Gen 3 can burn oil especially 2010. Also you should consider 0W-30 oil instead of the 0W-20 oil. As this will help with oil burn and reduce the chances of getting oil burn. I actually have run 0W-30 for over 15K miles and just switched to 0W-40 but I am in California where it was 93 degrees on Thanksgiving.

Oil light is a light, maintenance is a message. He will need to clairify.

That is maintenance message. This will come on every 5k miles. You should change the oil each time, don't go 10k miles between changes.

Planning to change the spark plugs. While replacing the air filter, I popped the plastic engine cover. More than enough room to get em out. And plastic cover just pops and slips off.

What am I missing when so many say to remove wiper assembly?

Still only getting 44 MPG. But it is around 40f here in Mooselvainia, CT.

    (in Celsius, that's chilly)

    Happy Tuesday!

The coils are longer than the gap between the windshield wiper cowling and the top of the block.

So before you get to the plugs, you’ll see why.

    Good luck (y).

Ah, cool. And thank you Ray.

Given the experience and expertise here, knew some thing was up. And that it looked to easy.

Thanks for the links. I've skimmed some of his vids and really like his style and format. Just really well done.

I'm a member of 3 forums. A mod for a motorbike one. Can be ruff and this one is great. Folks are pleasant and cordial. I should do a thank you thread. Should see the romper room of a forum for uber drivers. Ya readily see why many of these folks couldnt hold a job that requires vetting beyond a legal car. Not kidding.

But here folks are genuinely helpful and fun to chat with. Ya can ask or say dumb and not start a flame thing.

Just because one is behind a keyboard and a nickname, is not licence to be an expletive.

The MB one, it's literally against the rules to be a jerk.

Just rambling but do appreciate and enjoy you folks.

That's 3rd gen woes. Windshield slope or whatever, makes it impossible to pull the coils off without taking the car half apart.

Lol, Mendel. Sounds like an old R&B song.

Right up there with such classics as "I can't stop my leg." And "I don't get no good mileage in the snow, blues"

    "wait, it stopped"
