Hello, I'm new to this site and I am looking for a recommendation for a store or business that sells new hybrid batteries for my 2008 prius gen 2. The dealership will upcharge. Any leads is greatly appreciated.

You called a dealer? What do you mean by upcharge?

@nancytheprius was visiting in Chicago Nov 22 and had to replace the HV battery, was able to find a new battery from a dealer. Had to call around to 4 dealers, maybe he will be along to point you to a dealer.

I purchased a battery for my 2005 3 yrs ago from Greenbean battery company. At that time it was $1500 and came with a lifetime warranty ( as long as I own the vehicle) they recently replaced the battery….but then I thru a rod thru my oil pan and I’m now looking for a new gas motor and someone to fix it! These cars have doubled and tripled in price in the last couple years….yikes! Good luck to us both!

get a jdm used with low miles if you can find a mech. anyone can do it, no special hybrid models though some mechs will still shy away.

I have a question for my 2007 prius. Whenever I have the car on a long stop lets say on a drive thru station sitting for more than 12 minutes, the battery bar goes down to the last 'purple bar' then it charges. I'm not quite sure if its suppose to go down that fastfor I cant even sit on the car longer than a normal gas engine car. Do you think there is something wrong with the hybrid battery? If so.. what do you suggest?
By the way the car is 150k miles and its well kept and driven normally.
    Thank you!

Except he's not in neutral, otherwise the car would not start the engine to charge the battery.
Presumably you also have the a/c on and I'm guessing its quite warm out, so depending on the the outside air temp and what temp you've set for the interior temp, it is hard to say if 12 mins is bad or not.
This is normal with the car in D. In neutral the engine would not come on and you risk running the battery to an unhealthy and undesirable low level.
