New 2018 Prius Prime Premium with old 2017 maps

    My friend and I both purchased 2018 Prius Prime Premium last week, navigation of my car shows maps from April 2017, while my friend's car shows maps from May 2018. Dealer said they only have 2017 maps microSD card, any ideas how can i get my maps updated?

    You could try to clone the sd card.

    I tried calling toyota, but no luck. They said your dealership can get the new card ask them, will go to dealership soon lets see. On ebay you can buy the new map card but I’m not trying to spend money.

    I had the same experience. I was able to get an updated card from the dealer. There is a thread about this in the audio, electronics folder. Do a search for Navigation Map Version. I called my sales person. If not find the dealer's customer relations person.

    does the updated maps change the UI/appearance of the maps? or does it just update the routes? I have a 2017, and trying to figure out if it's worth looking into getting a 2018 one

    When you install the updated microSD card, you get a new map database, which the system uses to show the on-screen maps and to determine routes, and a new points of interest database. The software features and user interface generally wouldn’t change.

    and you get all the new roads that have been opened up until 2013
