    Maybe the rear brake clearance was set too tight resulting in some drag on the rear brakes.

    What is there to hear?

    If a plug is defective or incorrectly gapped, that will not help engine performance and will worsen fuel economy...

    The MAINT REQD warning light is based upon an odometer timer, which starts that light blinking 4,500 miles after the last time it was reset, and turns solid 5,000 miles after the last reset.

    I am not aware of either a bad production run of plugs, or of a systemic problem with the plugs not being properly gapped.
