I'm not new to online forums, but I am new here. I live in Arlington,VA and own a Black 2007 Prius, I've just recently as of this week done some suspension work. Tell me what you think, FLAME ON!

I was able to grab some Tien lowering springs from a Toyota Matrix for $40 from a friend, then ordered some stock kyb shocks online and ran into a problem. Since I was using matrix springs the prius shocks were too long and pretty tiny honestly, so I ended up using shocks from a Corolla XRS that my buddy had laying around.

Here's the final product(sorry for instagram photo, I never took one with my potato)

Surfed craigslist and found a set of 17x8 +45 Enkei RPF1's with tires for $800, the tires were 225/45/17 and damn they fit nice in the rear. The front with +45 offset not so much..... so I'll be ordering new tires in the next few days.

Still trying to figure out what tire size I want to run, I'm thinking 205/50/17 with a spacer in the rear. I want to run 215's just for looks, but idk how the front fender will enjoy that.

looks cool, but I think if you put 205's on it won't look right. like the idiot yo boys that think "stretching" a tire looks "tight" or some stupid $#!+ like that...

now to complete the suspension upgrade, install a corolla/matrix front sway bar and a progress or trd rear bar. with those big tires, it will handle like a sports car. and you will say goodbye to excessive body roll.

chassis stiffener plates might help; but the biggest problems with prius are excessive body roll and weenie tires that break loose too easy. you got the tires nailed if you can make those wide wheels work, and the sway bar upgrade will flatten corners out -- it feels like it squats when you hit a corner hard. I had 205's on my '04, but since my '06 has stupid tpms, I couldn't just swap the wheels.

    Soon, still raining here.

Thanks, it really needs tint now.

10x better than before, only rubs on the front driver-side fender and then big bumps on the plastics. I'll be removing the fender plastic and rolling the fenders flush this week, I'm trying to decide on 10 or 15mm FIC bolt on spacers for the rear.

    Side profile looks great.
Can you tell us more about your rear lights? I like the extra red sections.

I just taped off the reverse and turn signals then sprayed the top and bottom with Testors 1605 Candy Apple Red spray enamel. I need to sand, wax, and apply UV resistant clear coat so they look factory.
