New& looking at 2003,156K, new battery

    I always advise people to skip the gen 1 no matter how cheap the price. Gen 1's are known for trans failure, power steering rack failure and battery failure. The gen 2 is a much better car. I think you could get a gen 2 for the same price. If you need convincing go drive that gen 1 on the freeway. It is a like the old tercels of the 80's. Gen 2 is as comfortable as a similar year model Camry or accord

    Yeah, the Gen I is "limited" in comfort.
