Hello everyone. I bought my 2014 Prius 3 about a month ago with 44,000 on the clock. I've already put 4,000 miles on this baby. I drive A LOT for work...which is why I bought a Prius! Based on the cars computer I've averaged 46.1 MPG since I bought it. I've heard the computer reads high and I do not hypermile, etc. 70% of the miles are highway at this point. Could I do better - yes. However, I am no willing to change my driving habits much. The Dodge Journey I traded in averaged around 20 - 22 MPG in mixed driving so I am very happy! The car came with a new set of Firestone Champion tires which I inflated to 50 lbs. I'm also running Redline D6 ATF and Redline 0w - 20 motor oil.

The easiest change in driving style for me was to coast to stop signs, lightly trailing the brakes.

Once you need replacements, good Low Rolling Resistance tires and Toyota ATF WS will be better replacements, but I would no worry until you need replacements, ideally 90,000 miles from now.
